Hyundai Motors said it would produce a new BEV powered by batteries manufactured by its local joint venture with LG Energy Solution in Bekasi, east of Jakarta.

VinFast had already announced plans to invest $1.2bn to build a BEV plant in Bekasi with initial capacity for 50,000 units to supply RHD south east Asia countries.
